BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki tomorrow will fly to the Turkish capital Ankara to participate in the European Gas Conference, according to a cabinet media source.
“On Monday (July 13), Maliki will lead a government delegation to an Ankara-based conference on extending East Europe’s natural gas pipeline, NABUKO,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The delegation includes the minister of oil, Hussein al-Shahrestani; a media advisor, Yassin Majeed; and other advisors, the source pointed out.
The visit comes in response to an official invitation from the Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the source added.
Romania, Hungary, Georgia, Qatar, and Syria will participate in the conference.
