Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki meets Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the International Compact with Iraq

Received the Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki at his office Saturday evening of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the International Compact with Iraq, Mr. Ibrahim Gambari, and his accompanying delegation.


The sovereignty appreciate the great efforts of the United Nations towards Iraq and its interest in the subject of recent explosions and sent an envoy for Political Affairs to follow up on this, and thank the United Nations for her on Iraq, even today is a country that enjoys full sovereignty, and the draft International Covenant has had a major role in supporting the sovereignty of Iraq.


Mr Prime Minister: Iraq wants the international community on several things in the forefront of money out of chapter VII, and taking into account the significant positive changes and achievements, and to continue cooperation with the United Nations in various fields, and our part, we will continue to support the United Nations representative in Iraq and help us in the subject of development and expansion of our foreign relations, and we believe initially that the continuation of cooperation with the United Nations has become currently the most important of the draft Covenant.


He continued sovereignty: the International Covenant has done a lot on the road to sovereignty and security, and we find the overall orientation of the participating States in the International Covenant tends to lack continuity.


For his part, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the International Compact with Iraq: I met with representatives of the States of the United Nations and expressed their communication in cooperation with Iraq, based on developments and achievements made by the Iraqi government want to put a new mechanism of cooperation between Iraq and other countries , and we will show the new image of Iraq, and we will support steps towards the exit Iraq from Chapter VII.


The United Nations will continue to support and support for Iraq and its national sovereignty, and to provide the necessary resources at both the political and development, pledging to transfer the demands of the Iraqi government on terrorism and foreign interference in Iraqi affairs and the issue of the International Secretary-General of the United Nations.
