BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Following is a summary of news reports posted until 04:00 p.m. Baghdad local time Wednesday –Nov. 11:

*Politics:

BAGHDAD - MP from the Iraqi Accord Front (IAF), Rashied Azzawi, said on Wednesday that Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani’s answers during the parliament’s session were convincing.

BAGHDAD - The conference of chieftains started on Wednesday in Sadr City in eastern Baghdad with the participation of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

BAGHDAD - The parliament decided during its session on Wednesday to postpone the vote on the first amendment of the investment law for lack of quorum, a lawmaker from the Kurdistan Alliance (KA) said.

*Security:

KIRKUK - Unknown gunmen fired a rocket on Wednesday in southwestern Kirkuk with no word on damage, a source from the joint coordination center said.

BASRA - Police forces on Wednesday arrested 21 wanted men, and seized light arms and illegal cars during security raids throughout Basra province.

NINEWA - Iraq’s border guards in Ninewa arrested on Wednesday 19 infiltrators in the Iraqi-Syrian borders in west of Mosul, a source from the Ninewa operations command said.

*Economy:

SULAIMANIYA - Kurdistan region’s Prime Minister Burham Saleh inaugurated on Wednesday the Fifth DBX Trade Fair in Tasluja in Sulaimani city with the participation of more than 222 local and foreign companies.

BAGHDAD - The Central Bank of Iraq’s (CBI) dollar sales went down to $92.905 million in its daily auction on Wednesday, compared to $154.250 million during the previous session.

BASRA - The Basra council approved on Wednesday four water projects in separate areas of Basra, chairman of the reconstruction and development committee said.
