Maliki, order the reinstatement of former army officers who wish to service this

BAGHDAD - Agencies - weekly news agency -- Defense Ministry announced Thursday that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki ordered the return of all former officers who have applied to return to service in the army, totaling more than twenty thousand.


Maj. Gen. Mohammed al-Askari, spokesman for the Defense Ministry told Agence France-Presse, "The prime minister issued an order to return the former army recruits to the service."


"Since the day, there is no naming the former Iraqi army." After the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003, the U.S. civil administrator of Iraq, a decision to dissolve the Ministry of Defense and the Interior and the security departments who was working during the previous regime.


He stressed that the military is the new prime minister, "the former army ended the file completely." "In June of 2008, we have invited the officers and rank to return, and formed five committees to follow-up," he "already been made twenty thousand and four hundred inside and outside Iraq demands" to return. Iraq was opened in February 2009, offices in five Arab countries, notably Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt, UAE, in order to achieve national reconciliation in the country.


He called on the military officers attend, saying, "We announce our call for a ministry defense of those who submitted their applications from inside Iraq enrollment within thirty days, and outside the country in a maximum period of 45 days." Military sources said that the number of Iraqi army recruits former is estimated at about 450 thousand soldiers, of whom only 50% either receiving pensions or enrolled again for military service, within the Iraqi security forces, while the fate of the remaining non-specific.
