On Tuesday, Switzerland’s parliament intends to discuss the possibility of introducing an alternative currency in the country.
It is supposed that the new currency will be called “the golden franc” and will be worth 5 common francs or $ 5.3. At the same time, the “old” franc will remain Switzerland’s official currency.
The initiative to introduce the new currency came from the country’s largest party – the conservative Swiss People’s Party.
Experts say that introducing the new currency may help Switzerland to escape the financial crisis which is currently gripping the whole eurozone.
