Iraq Wants Tehran Role in Expansion of Baghdad-Damascus Ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iraqi government has called for Iran to play its role in expansion of Baghdad-Damascus cooperation, said Iran's ambassador to Iraq on Monday.

Hassan Kazemi Qomi referring to Iran's Foreign Minister recent visit to Baghdad told the Iranian students news agency, "Many issues were discussed during the talks including that Iraqi side has asked Iran to play role in line with broadening Iraq and Syria cooperation considering Iran's good ties with both countries."

Ties between Iraq and Syria are growing considering introduction of ambassadors and as the Iraqi Foreign Minister has announced Baghdad wants further cooperation with Syria, he added.
