Budget should be ready 3 months ahead of FY – think-tank

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The government should submit the budget three months before the beginning of fiscal year (FY), the Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform recommended on Saturday.
“The recommendations will be submitted to government and parliament to adopt them,” Manaf al-Saaigh, the Institute’s director, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He said that the recommendations stressed that international transparency criteria should be applied when it comes to the government’s financial behavior.
