Iraq moves to market economy – advisor

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq in 2009 has launched a project to gradually move to market economy in coordination with the United Nations, the Iraqi prime minister’s economic advisor said on Tuesday.
“The project’s first stage will last until 2011,” Abdulhussein al-Anbaki told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He said that four teams have been working on the project.
“The first team is for legislative reform, the second for institutional reform, the third for private sector reform, and the fourth for investment circulation,” al-Anbaki said.
He said that related experience of other countries, such as Poland, China, and Egypt were examined.
