GENEVA, June 15 (Reuters) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Monday the G20 group of developed and emerging economies would have to address the issue of how currency exchange rates weigh on global economic competition.
In a speech to the International Labour Organisation, Sarkozy said: 'Given the distortions in global competition, currencies today are what are playing the most important role. In the future, the G20 will just have to address that issue.'
The next G20 meeting is scheduled to take place in September in Pittsburgh in the United States.
