Iraq central bank to cut policy rate to 7 percent, THATS 200 BPS!!!!

So
I guess the tightening monetary policy left after lowering interest
rates down to a reasonable level will be raising the exchange rate......
With an expected increase of money for investment thats the only other way to stop inflation from getting out of hand......

Iraq central bank to cut policy rate to 7 percent

BAGHDAD, June 18 (Reuters) - Iraq's
central bank will cut its policy rate to 7 percent from 9 percent as of
June 21, a senior advisor to the bank said on Thursday.
The move reflects the bank's policy of keeping real interest rates two
points above core inflation, the adviser, Mudher Kasim, told Reuters in
an e-mail.
