Kuwait: Iraq's debts owed to Kuwait are to be reallocated as investments inside Iraq, ...said Eyad Al Samarrai, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, as he concluded his visit to Kuwait on Thursday.
Al Samarrai said he had presented a proposal to Kuwaiti officials which
suggested that all of Iraq's debt will instead be turned into
investment projects within the country, reported the Kuwaiti Arabic
daily, Al Watan.
"Kuwait has agreed that the compensations are turned into investments inside Iraq," he said.
On a separate issue, in
a coordinated effort between Kuwaiti and Iraqi officials, a mass grave
located in Karbala will be excavated next week as it is suspected to
contain the remains of Kuwaiti victims
