From his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on the visit by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Cairo the end of next September.

Abul Gheit said the completion of preparations for a meeting with President Al-Maliki, adding that the visit aims to activate the Egyptian-Arab role in Iraq, and the application of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the two sides, in addition to the exchange of visits between officials of the two countries.

The Egyptian minister described yesterday as "historic" for the peoples of the two countries after the signing of the memorandum of cooperation, pointing out that the signing of the memorandum was the fruit of a long period between the two sides, which began during his visit to Iraq and meeting with President Jalal Talabani, who said he proposed the formation of committees to the mutual understanding between the two countries ".
