Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, in a press conference at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, said national reconciliation was completed many of the requirements needed by the State in the process of building the political system, and accomplished a lot of requirements that are at the core of democracy-building process, which basically adopts the principle of citizenship.

Maliki said that among the challenges that stand in the face of the government in the state-building process is the subject of political reform, it needs to review in depth and to the laws and the Constitution, for the development of the political process, security and praised the achievements made by the Iraqi security forces.

Prime Minister said: We inherited a country where corruption, much of the time of the former regime and increased after the fall of this regime, and the face of corruption and one of the fronts that we have and won it.

Maliki hailed the Iraqi citizens who stood together with the national project, not by sectarian projects, focusing on building a modern state and the provision of services, noting Baltaakedat new in the field of oil, especially that the state would contract with all States in this area for the reconstruction of the country.

At the conclusion of his speech, Maliki said that the government does not paint a rosy picture of the country over the problems, it still has significant challenges, but it regained its position in the process of confrontation, also drew attention to the consequences that the government has moved forward a strong pace, saying that building a democratic state on the ruins of State of the dictatorship of a difficult process, but the world is witnessing in Iraq despite the difficulties he was able to accomplish much, and the success of the elections is proof of that, and this station will remember the Iraqi people that it is right to look forward to a promising future.
