وصف الشيخ الدكتور محمد صباح السالم الصباح نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية الكويتي تقرير بان كي مون السكرتير العام للأمم المتحدة الى مجلس الأمن والخاص بمراجعة القرارات المتعلقة بالعراق بأنه "ايجابي". Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait report Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations to the Security Council and the review of the decisions on Iraq as "positive."
وأعرب الشيخ محمد عقب اجتماعه الى كي مون في مقر المنظمة الدولية عن اطمئنانه لتوجه الأمم المتحدة في هذا الموضوع وعن "رغبة كويتية حقيقية" في التعاون مع العراق في استعجال تنفيذ ما تبقى من تلك القرارات. The Sheikh Mohammed after a meeting to Ki-moon at the headquarters of the International Organization for the trust to guide the United Nations in this matter and for the "Kuwaiti real desire" to cooperate with Iraq in the urgency of the implementation of the remainder of those decisions.
وقال انه أثار "بعض القضايا التي لدينا ملاحظات عليها في هذا التقرير" مشيرا الى أن التقرير كان ايجابيا ورصد حقائق على الأرض وخاصة المواضيع الأساسية التي ركز عليها بان وهي مسؤولية العراق بشكل كامل عن تنفيذ جميع القرارات ذات الصلة وان على العراق أن يعمل بطريقة حثيثة على تنفيذ هذه القرارات. He said it raised "some of the issues that we have observations in this report," adding that the report was positive and the monitoring of the realities on the ground, particularly the key themes highlighted by a responsibility that Iraq fully implement all relevant resolutions on Iraq and to work actively on the way implementation of these decisions.
وأضاف انه شدد في اجتماعه مع السكرتير العام على موضوع ذي "أولية قصوى بالنسبة لنا في الكويت" وهو موضوع الحدود والقرار 833 وازالة التعديات على الحدود مبينا "ان هناك ردود فعل من "الاخوة العراقيين الذين قرأوها على كونها اعتداءات وأنا لم أقل اعتداءات هناك تعديات على الحدود بوجود منشآت على الحدود الكويتية - العراقية يجب ازالتها". He said he emphasized in his meeting with Secretary-General on the theme of "a high priority for us in Kuwait," which is the subject of borders and the resolution 833 and the removal of encroachment on the border stating, "There are the reactions of the" Iraqi brothers who have read it from being attacked and I did not say there are attacks on the abuses the existence of border facilities on the Kuwaiti border - Iraq must be removed. وأوضح الشيخ محمد ان كي مون دعا الى ايجاد أفكار خلاقة في كيفية التعامل مع ما تبقى من التعويضات للكويت مؤكدا ان "الكويت لديها أفكار وهي مستعدة أن تجلس مع العراق تحت مظلة الأمم المتحدة لمناقشة هذا الأمر". Shaikh Mohammed added that Ki-moon called for a creative ideas on how to deal with the remainder of the compensation to Kuwait, saying that "Kuwait has ideas and is ready to sit down with Iraq under the umbrella of the United Nations to discuss this matter."
وتابع "لذلك أنا مطمئن لتوجه الأمم المتحدة في هذا الموضوع ونتمنى من الله سبحانه وتعالى أن ننجز المتبقي من تنفيذ هذه القرارات في أسرع وقت ممكن وهناك رغبة كويتية حقيقية للتعاون مع العراق في استعجال تنفيذ هذه القرارات". "So I went to reassuring the United Nations in this matter and hope to God Almighty to complete the remainder of the implementation of these decisions as soon as possible and there is a Kuwaiti real desire to cooperate with Iraq in the urgency of the implementation of these resolutions."
وذكر ان هناك قرارات كثيرة متعلقة بالعراق لا علاقة للكويت بها و"نتمنى أن يعود العراق بأسرع وقت ممكن بكامل وضعه الى الأسرة الدولية وأن يكون عاملا مساعدا للأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة". He said there are many decisions concerning Iraq have nothing to do with Kuwait and the "wish to return Iraq as soon as possible and put the whole of the international community and be a contributing factor to security and stability in the region."
