BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The parliament decided during its session on Wednesday to postpone the vote on the first amendment of the investment law for lack of quorum, a lawmaker from the Kurdistan Alliance (KA) said.
“The parliament could not vote on the law for lack of quorum and we will vote on it in the coming sessions,” MP Mohammad Khaliel told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The old investment authority law number 13 of 2006 was rejected because the investment authority was among the prime minister’s responsibilities, but we worked in the parliament’s economic committee to amend the law and to shift the authority’s responsibility to the cabinet,” he explained.
