Minister of Finance Bayan Jabr Japan to grant approval of soft loan to Iraq, saying on the International Monetary Fund pledged to allocate between five to six billion dollars to support the Iraqi budget.
The Zubeidi told reporters in Amman, which is currently being visited, as saying that the IMF also agreed to provide technical support to Iraq, in addition to supplying Iraq with experts in the financial area, pointing out that "Japan expressed its readiness to provide a soft loan repayable over 40 years and an interest rate of less than. 5% if Iraq signed an agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
