Iraqi delegation in Vietnam to foster economic relations

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: An Iraqi diplomatic delegation on Tuesday held a meeting in Vietnam with Vietnamese foreign minister, with whom they discussed ways of boosting diplomatic and economic relations, according to a foreign ministry’s statement.
“The delegation, led by Undersecretary of Iraqi Foreign Ministry Labied Abbawi, expressed Iraq’s desire to strengthen relations with Vietnam in various domains,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The meeting tackled also the recent parliamentary elections and the ongoing talks to form a partnership government,” it added.
For his part, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem voiced his country’s support to the political and democratic process in Iraq and the recent improvement in the security and economic fields, underlining that Vietnam will take all measures to reopen the embassy in Baghdad as soon as possible.
