Economist: the Statements of the winning blocks confuses the Iraqi market

Baghdad, May 23 (AKnews) – An Iraqi economic expert said on Sunday that continuing political differences between the winning blocks in the Iraqi parliamentary elections has caused an increase in the prices of goods in the Iraqi markets.
"This period that precedes court ratification of election results has caused an increase in the prices of goods and commodities in the Iraqi markets because of the statements made by some politicians about a possible civil war in the country," Ali Kaji , An Iraqi economic expert said Sunday.
"Warnings about a possible civil war in the country will affect the Iraqi market and would put it in risk, which affects negatively on the level of the Iraqis per capita" Kaji added.
The real crisis demands the government to find ways to stabilize the Iraqi market fully to revive the Iraqi economy, he said.
"Politics and economy are two correlative aspects in the country and we can not deal with this issue but by finding politicians who comment in sensible ways, rather than provocative," Kaji emphasized.
Some of the winning political blocs in the Iraqi elections released comments earlier about the possibility of a civil war if they were not granted their right to name the next Iraqi Prime Minister.
