HANOI (Dow Jones)--Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co.(034020.SE) has signed a $70 million contract with Siemens AG (SI) to build two boilers for the construction of a power plant in southern Vietnam, state media said Friday.
Doosan will build the boilers at its unit's factory in Dung Quat Economic Zone in central Vietnam, Hanoi Moi online newspaper reported, citing Doosan Deputy Chairman Dongsoo Seo.
Construction of the boilers will begin in mid-2010 and will be completed by end-2011, the report said.
The boilers will be used for building the gas-fired Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant 35 kilometers northeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
The plant has a capacity of 750 megawatts, and will cost $524 million to build.
