ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: Prime Minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan region Negervan al-Barazani on Sunday announced the launch of a “strategic project for an upright and transparent rule in Kurdistan” under the supervision of an international company specialized in financial consulting.
The project was launched at the regional government’s cabinet building in the presence of the regional ministers and representatives for the U.S. embassy in Iraq.
The project aims to “develop an upright and transparent rule, to uphold the sovereignty of the law and to overcome the shortcomings in the government’s performance,” Barazani said.
“No one is above the law no matter his position in the government,” the premier noted.
According to Barazani, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will supervise the project in accordance with an agreement made with the regional government.
