Conference held to establish stock market in Diwaniya

DIWANIYA / Aswat al-Iraq: In cooperation with the local government in Diwaniya, the U.S. reconstruction team has held a conference to establish a stock exchange in the province.
“The conference was held at the headquarters of the Diwaniya Chamber of Commerce,” a media advisor in the team, Ahmed al-Quseer, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The U.S. team has helped open channels of communication with foreign companies, according to Quseer.
The market is expected to be opened in the coming months, Quseer pointed out.
The conference was attended by several investors, local officials and members of the U.S. team, he added.
Diwaniya, the capital city of Diwaniya province, lies 180 km south of Baghdad.
