Iraqi Deputy: salaries and allowances of MPs constitute a significant burden on the Iraqi treasury
07/31/2010 14:08

Dohuk, July 31 (Akaniwz) described the Deputy for the Iraqi National Alliance, members of the House of Representatives and former and current Hamayatem that they represent "an army of retirees spoiled and form a big burden on the Iraqi treasury," she said to the need to Pass measures in this regard.

The peace Sumaisem told Kurdistan News (Akaniwz) The "number of deputies to the current 325 deputies, with the payment of 10 thousand dollars for each of them means that they receive 3.25 million dollars per month, as well as 3 million dollars to pay for them under the name (instead of rent)." . She said, "If we add the salaries of its protections, imagine the size of the enormous sums paid each month."

She pointed out that "this situation for incumbents, either former, we can calculate the 275-member House of Representatives and former Hamayatem and 100-member National Assembly and Hamayatem, can we say here that we have now a full division of protections."

Stressed Sumaisem, specializing in the economy, that "Iraq now has an army of retirees who earn spoiled millions of dollars per month without service is worth it" .. Warning that "the situation will be worse after four years, ie after the next election, as it would be a much bigger burden on the treasury in Iraq."

On the possibility of finding compromises justice to Parliament and not more than at the same time the burden of the Iraqi treasury, said Sumaisem "I Kiguetsadip originally conceived of basis points, is that all these people and Btanathm protections and escorts and advisers, and Almetzlven but they are already a burden on the Iraqi budget and make a living on the Iraq's revenues, at a time when Iraq appears most in need of these funds to rebuild and repair of Iraq and provide security for the citizen, and not for certain categories of people. "

She said: "I think that if compelled to pay the salaries of each Vice personal protection, guard, and would accept one or two say about his own car, this would be somewhat acceptable to pay high salaries to them, and I urge you to reconsider Barkamha" .. Noting that "numbers do not reach the salaries of deputies to this extent and magnitude of the overstatement in any place in the world except Iraq."

She noted that "if you include the above figures, except travel allowances, IFAD and (improve the situation), etc., will be clear how much burden on the state budget" .. And went on to say, "look and simple compared to the calculation of this expenditure will be in front of the large gap in financial resources, to say the least it is not justified."

And expressed MP concern of huge numbers of which it had hit the "2.75 million dollars for a month, which means 32 million for year one, but four years would be 128 million dollars, this is the former, and no allocations and allowances" .. Adding that "Iraq's national income and revenues from Iraqi oil ready for the sterile group, and we wonder, is it that group of concentrating its efforts in at least the equivalent of spending from the salaries and allowances."

Indicated that the financial entitlements and other privileges to members of the Iraqi parliament's 325 representatives were a matter of discontent and resentment of the Iraqi street, which sees it as exaggerated.

The number of members of the new Iraqi Council of Representatives had said earlier that "nominal monthly salary allocated for a single deputy in the current session of about 10 thousand U.S. dollars, as well as the salaries of security elements 30 and 50 thousand American dollars to buy a car."
