Government calls for European countries and the United States to take the money from Iraq Section VII




Zebari: Baghdad and Washington have agreed to exchange intelligence information and expertise


BAGHDAD - Al Sabah


Government has called on the European Union and the United States to work together to remove Iraq from Section VII of money, a renewed condemnation of the intervention of some regional countries internal affairs.


Reviewed and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, during a gala held at the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad to mark the receipt of the last presidency of the European Union and attended by the ambassadors to Iraq, the political situation, security and democracy in the country and the review of Iraq's relations with the European Union. The foreign minister stressed the need to accomplish and complete the partnership and cooperation treaty between Iraq and the European Union under the Swedish Presidency, having been held so far about the functional commissions of eight sessions of negotiations between the two sides.
He pointed out the importance of other axes in the political consultation and building development strategies, capacity-building of Iraqi institutions and to encourage dialogue on human rights and the deepening of their culture and respected.
Zebari, and the ambassadors of EU countries to support Iraq's position out of the consequences and penalties of Chapter VII in the process of review would be announced soon between the Iraqi negotiator and the Secretariat of the United Nations.
It is hoped the UN Security Council to discuss the middle of this month, the report of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Iraq's efforts to get out of the money item VII. The foreign minister stressed the government's keenness to meet their international obligations for Iraq's return to normal in the international community.

Zebari said in a statement quoted by the Austrian newspaper der Standard, was accused by some MPs on the regional countries standing behind the recent terrorist attacks, "for as long as I have said that the countries are interfering in our affairs and we condemn this interference."


He said: that the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the cities was a natural application of the security agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington, which provided for the withdrawal and found out the total of troops from Iraq by the end of 2011, stressing that the Iraqi forces "is now in a position to take over and I am optimistic."


Zebari revealed the formation of a joint security committee with the United States to work together, in addition to the exchange of information and intelligence experience.
