Iraq is continuing preparations for accession to the World Trade Organization

The Commerce Department reported that Iraq has reached advanced stages of accession to the WTO.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce unfortunate state of affairs, Mahmoud said that Iraq had begun a long way since the beginning of the application for membership to the WTO in February 2004.
Mahmoud stressed the importance of accession to WTO and the positive results of the Iraqi economy and business dealings as the organization which takes care of trade and ensure the implementation of all trade agreements and is keen on raising living standards, income and employment security.
Mahmoud pointed to the ways of anti-dumping commodity to support local production, and Iraq's desire to activate the bilateral trade with Arab countries on the basis of bilateral agreements between States
