Al-Dabbagh: approved a draft law ratifying the Convention on the establishment of a free trade zone between Iraq and Jordan

Said government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said the Cabinet decided to approve the bill ratifying the Convention on the establishment of a free trade zone between Iraq and Jordan, and transmit it to the House of Representatives, noting that among the articles of the Convention abolish customs duties on products to both countries, according to a statement his office released on Friday.


Dabbagh said according to the statement that "accepting the bill ratifying the Convention on the establishment of a free trade zone between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan comes to the purpose of supporting and developing trade relations between the two governments and to strengthen ties and economic ties on an equal basis for cooperation between the two base .. Zisa economic integration, which provides a good environment for economic and trade relations. "


Dabbagh said a "bill of materials to ensure that the Contracting Parties shall abolish the customs duties and other taxes of similar effect in force and applicable in each of the two countries on goods of national origin and that the liberation of all goods exchanged between the two countries by all non-tariff restrictions on imports imposed in both the two countries. "


He added that "do not apply the provisions of this Convention of products and materials exempted for religious reasons, health or safety or environmental rules or quarantine veterinarian with a commitment made any modifications to the products and to apply the procedures and laws of the parties agricultural and veterinary quarantine on goods subject to it in accordance with the laws and procedures applicable and in force in each of the two countries also have the right of each Contracting Party shall apply the protective measures that are agreed upon between them and this is reported on Article 6 - of the Convention. "


Dabbagh said the "Contracting Parties shall provide adequate and effective protection and non-discriminatory and applied in relation to intellectual property rights, trade and industry including the registration of patents, trademarks, industrial designs, plant varieties and animal breeds."


He noted that "the articles of the Convention took into account the identical specifications and standards applicable in the country of origin of goods and products of national origin in the absence of national standards applicable specifications are based Arabic issued by the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining / Center for Standards and Metrology, or the adoption of international standards."


He added, "The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the entry of trucks and goods of both countries and promote trade cooperation within the framework of laws through encourage joint industrial activities and the establishment of a joint council for businessmen from both countries and facilitate their visits and exchange of data and information for and participation in specialized international exhibitions and the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the field of recognition mutual certification examination. "


Al-Dabbagh that "the Convention will enter into force after (30) days from the date of exchange of diplomatic notes leading up to ratification by the contracting parties and this Agreement shall remain in force unless either Contracting Party shall notify the other party through diplomatic channels are reviewed provisions of this Agreement the Contracting Parties in accordance with for the development of both economies. "
